Songs of Love Recruits Collegiate Chorus to Celebrate it's 6000th Song of Love!

On Wednesday, November 3, the Songs of Love Foundation celebrated its 6,000th "Song of Love" by involving over 450 students of Hofstra University in New York. The milestone song was recorded for leukemia patient Brendan Miranda. Brendan and family were present at the event!

This special event was sponsored by Hofstra's Student Government Association, Hillel: The Center for Jewish Life on Campus and the Inter-Fraternity/Sorority Council. Other groups involved are Hofstra's Student Activities, the Newman Club, the Protestant Club, the Muslim Students Association, Circle K, the Hofstra Gospel Ensemble and Sigmacapella. There were many Songs of Love writers who also contributed their talents and voices! They include: Ruth Antrich, David Cooper, Irving Louis Lattin, Carl Allocco, Chris Stavropoulos, Bill Smith, Kathy
Hart, Meny Beriro, Candi Beriro, Alwis Demoya, Alex Forbes, John Beltzer, Richard Berardi and Danny Obadia.

Songs of Love Holds Its 6th Annual Golf Outing

Over 100 golfers once again came together in song for Leukemia patient Victor Galfo. Victor is a Yankee fan! Click above to hear his "Song of Love," written and performed by Danny Obadia.

Last years recipient, Riley Goodwin, showed up in person with her mom, Helen and sister, Samantha. It was a treat for all the golfers to meet one of the song recipients in
person!

Songs of Love Engages New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg

Songs of Love Founder John Beltzer lead a crowd of dignitaries, including New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Queens Borough President Helen Marshall, in the live recording of a "Song of Love" for 5-year-old leukemia patient David Sookhoo. David was all smiles as he witnessed so many singing his name! Over 1,000 people participated in the sing-along at the Queens College Colden Auditorium. Helen Marshall personally invited John to speak on behalf of the Queens, New York based Songs of Love Foundation. The crew of 60 Minutes II was there to tape the event as part of a segment to be anchored by Dan Rather. Former Ray Charles Raellette Angela Workman sang the lead vocal.
