Shea Stadium Turns Into a Massive Recording Studio as Bob McGrath and 15,000 Young Mets Fans Record a "Song of Love!"

Bob McGrath of Sesame Street and over 15,000 young Mets fans recorded a personalized "Song of Love'' at Shea Stadium for 10-year-old Matthew McKinnon. Matthew is receiving treatment for Nephrotic Syndrome - an indicator of a number of kidney-affecting diseases - at Schneider Children's Hospital in New Hyde Park, N.Y. Matt, and avid Mets fan, was present as he witnessed the massive crowd singing their hearts out just for him. Beach Boys "Pet Sounds'' co-creator Tony Asher composed the song. Mets PA announcer Alex Anthony added his voice on the song as well. Popular New York TV Weatherman Mr. G contributed a spoken introduction.

The Gibson Foundation and the Heather on Earth Music Foundation sponsored the event.
